Hey there! I'm Sarah Dorward, the lady behind the lens at Sarah Jean Photography.  I fell in love with photography at a young age and although I didn't pick up my first DSLR until 2014, I have always enjoyed taking pictures and looking through family photo albums, learning the stories that each picture told and almost feeling as if I were there to experience the moment being captured. My family has an old trunk packed to the brim of family photos, some even dating back to when my great grandmother was growing up, and even some of HER grandparents (WOW!) I can easily lose an afternoon reviewing those photos, and I have several times!

There's something magical that occurs when a client is in front of my camera.  I see them in their most real, natural form, so vulnerable and yet so amazingly beautiful - in ways they cannot see themselves.  Whether the client is a senior soaking in the last few months of high school, or a family with small children struggling to keep the tempers of their little ones tame during a session, I feel so blessed and fortunate to be able to see these people in a different light.  I'm the lucky one that gets to tell your story and preserve your moments - how cool is that?  These are the feelings I hope to capture during your session, so that you too may see the true beauty that you and your family emulate!

When I'm not behind the camera, I can be found running, cooking, gardening, and spending time with my boyfriend and friends.  I enjoy jalapeno margaritas, food of all sorts, funny movies, camping, and live acoustic music.
